Yesterday it was a lovely day in Houston! High of 68 with sunny blue skies. Took a day trip to Brazos Bend State Park and brought home a few nice images. I was shooting with a 500 mm with a 2X TC and was so close to this White Ibis that I cut his 'virtual' feet off so I decided a portrait shot was in order. Any comments appreciated.

A nice sharp portrait. The shoulder whites are pushing the envelope a bit, right at the edge of the gamut. I think you might pull back about 10% and improve this and maybe pick up a little detail in that area.

Lovely detail, Dottie, and a great view of the eye. Are you pairing the 2xIII with the older 500? I have the older 500 and I've been toying wth the idea of getting the new 2X. With this kind of results, I'd be very tempted.
