First of what I plan to be a short series of Jane Magnolia buds/flowers. This tree is always one of the first to bloom in our garden every year and is a hint that for us what we call winter is about over. Would have liked to use a polarizer but the light was failing and there was just enough of a zephyr in the air to make longer exposures iffy. Could have used a higher ISO but I just don't like going above 400 even though my camera is pretty competent at up to 1600. Choices and decisions

6 commentsMy only nit is the softness of the front sepals, but I do understand the restrictions placed on you by the camera and the light.
