Desert Wonderland

Central Oregon received record breaking snowfall last week, and after spending two days digging our home out of 2+ feet of snow, I headed out to Smith Rock SP to capture the park during this unique event.

Comments always appreciated!

5KII, Double-row stitch of 8 images for detail and exposure.

Tremendous detail thanks to multirow presentation . There is a lot to like about this, Cory. Just recording this weather event is worth the effort, but this goes well beyond that. There appears to be some weird coloration in the upper left of the mtn. It could be the monitor I'm on or it could be that is the actual color. It just sorta stands out in the large view. Great shot.

Hi Gary, yes, that is actually a bit of some type of greenish mineral in the sandstone. The name escapes me now, but I'll see if I can get the info on it. It definitely pops out, especially when well lit.

Thanks for the feedback!

Lucky you…
I would have driven over the mountains if I had known it snowed this much at Smith.
Great job with the stitching, perfect exposure and comp.

Looks stunningly cold and snowy with the snow, ice, and clouds set against the warm colors in the rocks. An excellent result for all of you efforts.
