Warming Up

Thought I'd warm things up a little from all the frost and snow on this page. These are the Sierra Del Carmen Mountains across the river from Big Bend National Park. We've been looking for the sun for 2 1/2 months and finally found it, way down here on the Rio Grande. Processed this image on my laptop (which is not calibrated) so please let me know what else it might need done to it. Thanks for looking

Big Bend is one of my most favorite places on earth. This image makes me want to be there. The color is pretty on my uncalibrated work monitor but overall it's a little flat. I would increase contrast somewhat. Wish I was there!!!

Looks like a warm place to find refuge from the cold. I like the layers on this mtn. The colors look OK, just a little flat as Bill pointed out. I also would try to pull more detail out of the shadowed foreground. Stay warm.

Yep, definitely needs a little more contrast in the brighter areas, and the blue in the sky could be brought out a touch more. I do like the comp and the flow from left to right, as well as the banding in the hills. Very nice.

As it has been stated, I think this image could benefit from some contrast in the mid tones, and also a bump in the shadow areas. Nice light and comp, Nancy.

Nice warm light here Nancy. I agree with the others that the image could use a bit more contrast, especially in the midtones. A bit more detail in the foreground would be good as well, if it's possible to open up those shadows.

Hi Nancy, I like your comp and all the layers through the rock. It does look a little flat so I agree with the other thoughts on this which I think could help a lot.

Hi Nancy glad your out of the snow and cold. I agree with what has been said concerning contrast and I'm sure you will get that worked out once you have a proper computer. You have a nice subject. I never realized Big Bend NP would be so colorful. Looking forward to seeing more images from there. good luck. Chet

A crop of just the face of the cliff would be a cool abstract too. I agree that the color is flat; when you switch to a calibrated monitor should be an easy fix.
