A washout to avoid if it should rain. Mushroom formations are in 7 plus foot range in left frame.

Yes, another "Bisti Boy" shot! Nice job controlling the dynamic range here, Rick. It retains the bright, contrasty feel that this scene needs, without looking harsh. This place, however, does look harsh. I can't imagine why anyone other than fugitive desperadoes and crazy photographers would go there. The fascinating rock formations look great in this comp with the blue sky.

"That right, Kemo Sabe,".
Strange place for snakes and lizards. Would like to do an overnight er here though.

I spent one night here a few years back, and really need to go back for more. It's an amazing place! Wonderful formations, as you've captured here. I'd add a little contrast to the earth portion, it seems a tad flat on my monitor.

Another nice take on Bisti. Can't wait to get there. It looks like pretty flat to me too. I'm sure that's what you intended.

thanks Gary and flat it is compared to Utah. Lots of amazing shapes and colors. I did not efficiently spend my time there. Got lost on my afternoon and sunset day, bla, bla bla.
