Delicate

The forest near my home in western Oregon flooded pretty frequently in the winter, and one day I was walking around in chest waders in knee-deep water and noticed this little plant and it's reflection. A steady rain was falling, so I set up my tripod and took about 200 shots as the droplets hit the water, and chose 2 or 3 to work on. I positioned myself so that out of focus reflections of trees framed the tiny scene.

Simple and lovely b/w. The ripples and the leaves are exquisite. I wouldn't question the framing, but I think I would be tempted to clone out the bubbles on the right side. Also there is a small white dot about 3 o'clock from the main ripple, just inside the dark shadow which could be made to disappear. This is probably a raindrop (I see a few others).

Thomas

This is a wonderful composition, very powerful image that immediate draws ones attention!! Your patience in setting this up and taking a stack of images have really paid off. Good call in converting this to B&W. :toast:

Perfect timing, well done. I too would clone away the stuff on the right.

Very striking image, Thomas ! Love the b & w conversion, and the capture of the droplet in the water could not be better. Very creative !!

I agree with the cloning comments already - it would clean it up a bit and make it simpler. Love the composition and the processing. Excellent work!
