This a one of the formations in Kodachrome Basin State Park in South Central Utah. Gorgeous little park and worth the trip if you going to Bryce. (Maybe a half hour - 45 mins. from the park.

You find such amazing rocks! And you even got a tree in the shot (Where I live, all the rocks are hiding behind trees so I had to look twice to see if that vertical lava tube was a dead tree  ). Your conversion looks great, but the name of the park makes me wonder what this looks like in color. I am guessing there is a reason the didn't name it Panatomic X Basin  ). I like the way your dof separates the elements here, too. Excellent comp and conversion.

Heresy! Making images made in Kodachrome Park into black and white!

I really like the comp and light here. I tend to like my b&w's with more contrast, but that's just a personal preference. You have a wide range of tones in this. Very well done.

Beautiful image. Interesting contrast between the rocks and the clouds. Great black and white job.

I like the shape of the formation and the cloud above it, but I find myself wondering what this would look like in color because of the location of the park.

The thumbnail doesn't do this justice!
Crisp, clean and dramatic. It looks like the backdrop to an old western (It may have been?).
Clouds are very nice…..

A unique image. I like the various rock textures, and the tree/bush giving a sense of scale. Great choice on the B+W...

Fascinating formation Gary. The scenery behind backs it up nicely.

This has everything Gary, even a very cool title too.
Excellent tones and a wonderful 3D look large, I got stuck on the LP for quite awhile:smile:
