This snow weary, male Cardinal looks about the way I feel about the snow....enough is enough!

50D, 700mm, ISO 400, 1/100, f5.6 LARGER version is also provided. Thank you all for your comments and critiques...I appreciate and learn from them all! Sharon

Lovely, Sharon. Nice simple pose and perch but the red really pops against the snowy bg. Well done.

Sweet! Fine detail, great colour, and the BG and snow streaks are excellent.

Sharon,
This is beautiful, the dull light has really helped with the reds :toast: :toast:

I heard this weather pattern will persist for another 3-4 weeks Sharon.
Until the jet stream changes its path you'll keep getting snow..
Even here in Central Texas it's been unusually cold.
Very nice cardinal image, in this case one just can't get enough of the white stuff:wink: :toast:

Pretty sweet image Sharon. Envious of getting that bird in your viewfinder. We don't have those here in NM. I like the mood. I do wish for just a little bit more mid tone punch in this image.

As we watch the coverage of the weather in the mid Atlantic we think about all the backyard birds we left behind when we moved, and about the gigantic bill I'd have for black oil sunflower seed that my wife bought at a quarter ton at a time.

This image conveys the weather situation nicely.

Looks like this cardinal has his winter coat on and it is amazing to me how birds can survive the cold winters. Wonderful shot with the snow in the background, way to go.
