This guy stands out well against the dark background. Many times when I shoot these guys, the background is somewhat busy and distracting. Whether you intentionally darkened the background or it looked like this naturally, it works. Great job on the whites also. :toast:

Hello Scott

WOW.. Well done!:) Beautiful capture with very good background. The dark bg. really isolates the egret. The lighter coloured branches do not bother me, just narural environment. The feathers dro0ping make the image for me.

My only nit is if you could bring up some detail in those dark legs, and if possible to bring out the top of his beak where it blends into the dark background and is not definite separation.

Thanks for sharing

Bill

Very nice, Scott. Breeding plumage already? Sigh.

Wonderful contrast with the dark background, I like the pose with some feathers hanging out on each side, way to go.

Gorgeous image, Scott. The white Egret really works against the black bkgd and you caught nice subtleties in the plumage with the angle of light. The reddish tuft of dead vegetation under the Egret is a nice grace note.
