This evening I took some photos of the sun setting (after it fortuitously came out from beneath the clouds when I happened to be down by the water in an area I never shoot at. I actually had just left a friend's new restaurant that is a work in progress because I am hoping to get some images on their walls and this shot presented itself across the street - who knows maybe it will soon on a canvas for diners to enjoy.

Nikon D7100 12-24mm f/4 @ 12mm HH lying down on ice
1/40s
ISO 500
f/22
CPL Filter

Image cropped to pano - 60% of original approximately

"HDR" processing in Perfect Effects 8, minor tweaks in LR5 and CS5

Yeah, I think it would look very nice on the wall of the restaurant. During tourist season, they'd probably be amazed at the ice. Well done image. Like it very much. Double starburst is kind of unique. Nice color, well composed, plus the sky adds a lot of interest to this.

Nice combination of elements here, Luke. Yes, I can see this on the wall of a restaurant, with a small plaque to identify the local spot where patrons can go to see beautiful sunsets. In addition to the sky and water, he twin Sun stars and the warm reflections they make on the ice make this special.

This would look great in that restaurant Luke! A wonderful winter scene with a warm inviting feel. I too like the double sun stars which add an extra special touch to the scene. Nice work! Hope you get to print it large and hang it there.

A wall-hanger for sure! Local views command high interest. I like the chunked ice in foreground and the star-bursts.

Very nice, Luke. I really like the double star burst. To me, the foreground ice is almost a distraction. I like the glow on it, but the real show stopper is the sun and its reflection.
