This little guy surprised me one night after a cocktail party at our house. He/she is a desert toad that bury themselves in the sand and only come out after drenching rains. It's a remarkable life and they are so cute, measuring only 2" or so in length. Obviously it is a large crop, but I thought I'd share his smile with you. His eyes appear nearly as bloodshot as mine the nest morning.

Very nice. Sharp, too-must have had it on auto focus? I've seen things like this after cocktail parties, too (some were pink), but could never get photos. Found out later they probably weren't even there to photograph.

Love this 'smiley' face Jim, the highly contrasted B&W works well IMO.
Looks good in spite of the large crop :toast:

Fun shot, Gary. Love the smile and the way he blends into the background/foreground. I think your processing and conversion to B&W is superb for the subject and comp.

I don't think I've ever looked at a toad and laughed before, Gary. What a great look at this critter.
