I was photographing this small butte in a dry wash in the morning in the shade when the sun rose high enough behind me to illuminate the top of the butte. It really made the composition work for me, and the clouds were a bonus.

Pretty cool. You got some nice leading lines here and the clouds are definitely a bonus, I don't think it would have worked without them. I like it!

I love the composition
Might suggest some shadow to highlight reduction :toast: Great sky.

This is a cool shot. I like how you composed it. Great use of lines leading to the butte. And the sky also looks interesting with those clouds. Beautiful image

The leading lines take me into this inviting scene and everything is topped off with those wonderful clouds. Beautifully done, Jim.

Very nice Jim! I like your comp and the lines taking me in to and around the scene. Wonderful color and a great sky topping it off. Nice work!

Im gonna have to dissent, Jim. I think you had a good idea here, with the lines and little butte, and the sky is nice, but theres just too much shadow here for me. Im not really fond of the extreme distortion in the bg either. It's not a bad shot, just no where near as strong as most of your stuff is IMHO. :argue:

Very nice scene Jim with a nice comp and beautiful sky. Could see a bit more shadow contrast maybe but great as is. Very nice.

The clouds make this image special. The leading lines of in the foreground rocks are interesting as well, which has me wondering how this would look with the foreground lit also, but I'm enjoying this as presented.

The great clouds complement your expansive foreground well.
