This is shot taken from bizarre area in northern Nevada. I liked the way this old fellow was contemplating his beautiful surroundings and the evening light.

actually I screwed up , it's not really northern Nevada, but it is north of Lake Meade in Nevada. You'll have to beat the rest out of me  I got a few more to post from here, It's one crazy spot :jump:

A very cool geological feature, and the conversion works well to show the lines and forms of it. Lots to explore there it looks like.

I sure do like the shape of the eroded pillar and all of the swirls in the foreground. This does look like a great find. Diving into nit picking (surely, nobody on NPN would do such a thing ), and assuming that you've done some dodging and burning, it seems like there's some extra brightness in the sky around the rock formation and off to it's right.

Fantastic B&W conversion Gary. I love the contrasts especially provided by the circular and horizontal rock forms in the foreground.

Amazing find, Gary. (I have to admit it's so amazing to me personally because I am so ignorant about the area, and the west in general. I visited Vally of Fire SP once, but I still can't tell if this formation is 6 ft. tall or 60 feet tall.) Wonderful B&W conversion.

Very nice! It seems like a place where you could sit and wait for hours, listening for the rock to speak...
