Having a Scratch

Hi everyone and a belated happy new year.

I managed to get out with my camera last week for the first time in ages. I made my way out to LLanddwyn Island, North Wales.

There are quite a few of these Welsh mountain ponies on the island and I managed to get a few shots of them but I think this is one of my favourites. Taken just after a passing storm.

I can see why you are a little puzzled Gary, this is a great photo. The exposure is perfect and the colors are nicely balanced. I like how the soft focus of the blowing grass in the foreground resembles the horses mane and the negative space from the overcast sky combined with these elements give this image a very relaxing feeling. A tighter crop might work as well but the image is fine as is. This pic deserves more feedback IMHO.

I like this image a lot, Gary. Its a great composition, great exposure and processing and most importantly for me it evokes great feelings of place and peace as if all is right with the world. Very well done.

Belated Happy New Year to you as well.

This photo is a beauty. The colors and details are rich. This would look great in a calendar. If it were mine, I would consider a bit of a crop on the right edge.

I have been told that Man & Nature is one of the lesser-visited galleries on NPN, which may explain the low visit and comment counts. This image is worthy of a long look and review.
