Taken yesterday along Lake Michigan, this photo is from an ongoing personal photography series of B&W images along the Chicago lake shore. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Very nice work, Jon. This reminds me of a pencil sketch. Lots of interesting contours and texture to keep my eye engaged throughout the frame. Fabulous work, Jon!! :toast:

Cool abstract. I would have had no idea what this was depicting without your explanation. I love the grainy rough feel and an almost woodgrain sort of feel. My eye is drawn to the incomplete pattern in the top left. I wonder how it would look if that was a complete pattern?

nicely seen; I have taken extravagant liberties - which I usually don't and really shouldn't for it is not my place to tell you how to process your images - please forgive me - but here's an alternative view of your image. it is simply different - not better.

Thanks all for the feedback.

Christopher, I don't have a photo with more of the top left pattern to compare to.

Stuart, I agree that the photo could use a little bump in contrast as you have done. The web version doesn't convert the finer details in the original image, and therefore needs more contrast to compensate.

Wonderful abstract Jon. Love the lines, but I too vote for a bit more contrast

I love the simplicity and the flow of the image. I just want to stare at it and be drawn into it...
