Endemic to Western Ghats(India), this charismatic species is one of the rarest primates on earth. Despite conservation efforts, their population in the wild is rapidly declining due to habitat loss.
This images was taken in Anaimalai National Park (India).

Excellent capture, nicely composed and nicely posed! My only suggestion, and it is subjective and tiny, would be to slightly desaturate some of those really bright greens so they don't compete with the subject. The unusual perch is a good enhancement, too. I would have liked to see this larger to appreciate detail.

Great photo showing the environment, yet having it simple and not distracting. Quite the set of eyes!

Thanks Lon and Richard. I tried to rework on the image by de-saturating the greens. Here is the modified version.

Sandipan, that is an excellent image of a seriously cool looking Macaque. I'd love to see the Lion-tailed part in addition to the Lion face. Thanks for posting and including the info on them ....I'm tempted to jump on the next flight to India :wavey:

Wonderful pose and I like how those eyes draw you further into the image to check out the head with that b/w contrast. Sorry to read about the declining population but an excellent shot.
