You might not be able to decipher the hieroglyphics here, made by mowed cornstalks in the flooded fields of California's central valley. This was taken at sunset on a trip to watch the cranes and geese fly in at sunset. The birds were far away, but I became fascinated with the shapes of the cornstalks and their shadows.

Canon 5d,M3 at1/100, f/5.0, 115 mm on a 100-400 lens, ISO640.

Comments and critiques welcome. I'm not sure if this should be in the landscape forum or not.

Very nicely seen, Kathy. Some of the "letters" remind me of Tolkein's languages. The reflected light is really beautiful and the stalks do look like an ancient script. Very nice!!

Cool! I think i can even decipher it--it says "Send Stan Rose all your money and you will find eternal happiness"
Good eye to see the potential here! :toast:

It is a fun little eye puzzle. Nice to catch that reflected light.

I just love the soft, reflected colors contrasting with the stark corn stocks. Great image

This is a neat collection of hieroglyphics set against a gently colorful reflections, wish I could read ancient Egyption. The distribution of stalks across the water works well.

Nicely seen and captured. I really like the diagonal slant to the stalks.
