There is no other place like the Chilkat River near Haines in the fall.
The gathering of bald eagles is just mesmerizing.

While doing some photography on the Yakima River (whatever I could find-ice, hawks, eagles, great scenery), I talked to two fishermen; one is from Haines. He remarked about the huge population of eagles. Wonderful image. I especially like the low flying eagle and the low lying clouds.

This is wonderful! In addition to the numerous eagles, there are so many layers of depth to this image. The foggy areas and the soaring eagle add so much. It looks like all but one eagle is mature. Very cool image that I lingered over! Sharon

Nice composition, Keith. The locations of the Eagle groups and the one in flight work really well with the trees.

I love the mood this image conveys and the wonderful sense of place. Viewing it took me back to the memories I have of the Chilkat River. I especially like how the one Bald Eagle is flying in for a landing.
