Saving sea turtles

Pinellas County Florida has a fantastic program dedicated to saving sea turtles. Rangers are constantly patrolling the beaches at Ft. Desoto Park looking for evidence of eminent hatching of sea turtle eggs and when they find evidence of eggs about to hatch, they dig them up in a timely manner and typically are able to release the live turtles the next morning before the eggs or turtles can be consumed by predators. Here is a shot of a ranger saving the eggs. His bucket has eggs about to hatch and some new hatchlings which will be released into the water. I thought a shot of this fantastic work was appropriate.

Shot at 100mm, F18, 1/160, ISO 800

Very nice documentation of a very important work toward saving endangered species. - so this would be appropriate for the EPJ (Environmental Photojournalism) Gallery.

Thanks Sandy, I never thought of that and just updated the photo to be in the environmental photo journalism gallery.

That Ranger actually looks like my friend Jim Wilson, he is the park supervisor.
