Dogwood Tree

I happened to peer out into the backyard recently and spied my retired racing greyhound looking at me as she always is, but it was an unusual pose behind a tree. it immediately struck me that apparently that is what a dogwood tree looks like and of course I then decided that apparently the method of identification of a dogwood tree is by its bark! I focused on the bark rather than the dog for this shot. I'm neglecting to put the exposure information up in that I post this as amusement rather than an as an example of fine (if not amusing) photography. I must admit however, I do like the contrast between the texture of the bark of the tree and my white greyhound.

R U sure the of this method of identification? (the bark)
I don't see the dog barking, so how can it be a 'dogwood' ? :jump:

Howard, you had to be there. The bark occurred prior to the taking of the photo, hence the immediate ID of the tree!!
