Nome, Alaska | June | Canon 1D4 | Canon 600mm f4 IS |
A hard-earned Nome specialty, and well worth it!! This Bluethroat landed on our willow perch 5 times while we were in bag blinds one sunny morning in Nome.

Great shot ! 99.9%- oh for that slight head turn. Minor nit I know but would take it to the top in my humble opinion. I know by the way - it aint as easy as that !! Fist one I,ve seen of this species with a tail fan I think.
Would do me anyway.

Beautiful image, Matthew. Welcome to NPN and the Avian Gallery. This looks very sharp, but you also have the option of posting a larger (1200 px) image for more accurate critique. The one stray tail feather is perfect.

Matthew, nice to see you posting here. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, especially your recent photos from the north. You killed it with some of the mammal stuff.

Lovely colors here. Cool perch too!
