Adamsville Texas was founded around 1856. Early ranchers in the area included Joseph Leland Straley, who built one of the first houses in the area, and the brothers Jasper and Perry Townsen.
This house is designated a historical landmark by the state of Texas.

An exceptional image Howard. I really like the antique filter look, very nostalgic. Old man made structures have always intrigued me.

Looks well used. The amazing thing about old homes like this is not that they are old and have stood the test of time, but that they have held so much of life and living within their walls.

Love the processing on this, very appropriate for the subject. Looks like something taken before the turn of last century. I can envision an old man emerging from the doorway, standing on the porch in a dark wool suit staring his pocket watch.
