Mt. Rundle on a lovely evening. I've posted the color version before. But, as I am trying my hand at B&W, here's a new post.

I haven't seen the color version, but I like this a lot. Many tones, some nice textures, lots to look at. I wonder about bringing up the dark shadows along the lake line, especially in the upper left. Still, very nice B and W.

I like this high contrast look, works nicely here IMHO.
Excellent comp from the ground up, makes a very big first impression!
And that's always half the battle:wink:
Well done Lucy :toast: :toast:

I didn't see the color version in your gallery. There appears to be some haloing along the skyline. But otherwise I think this is an appealing B&W, although the scene isn't ideally suited to it (in my inexperienced opinion  ).

I like the conversion here,Lucy. Sorta dark in the middle and there is some haloing along the mtn ridge line. I struggle with that problem myself. Are you using silver effects pro for you conversion? Anyway, I love b/w and will be posting some of my own soon.

Lucy, I'd like to see the shadow detail brought up, but I love the reflection. You might also see if you can pull more detail out of the bright areas of the sky. I really like the comp, and the detail in the mountains

While Silver-efex and other software packages work pretty well, I 'd like to recommend that you obtain Tony Kuyper's Luminosity Mask actions (assuming you use Photoshop). He has extensive tutorials along with them, and once you learn how to use them, they can make a huge difference.

The high contrast here works very well, Lucy. This is nicely composed with the logs and plants in the foreground, the reflections holding the middle and the peaks in the distance. I do agree that pulling a bit of detail in some of the darkest areas is should add even more interest.
