Bosque Revisited
by Dennis Plank
Seeing all these neat pictures from Bosque del Apache being posted inspired me to go back and work on one that I first posted after my trip there this past January. The original ended on the left side about half way back on the head of the erect crane in the onlookers. I had just cropped in front of the neck and cloned out the small piece of beak that was showing, but that left the onlooker in front chopped off. This time, I went back and looked at the preceding frames and found one three frames back that I was able to stitch to the original. After stitching, I rotated, cropped to a natural dividing point in the onlookers and cleaned up the areas where the two images joined. Unfortunately, 1200 pixels is rather limiting for a panorama, but hopefully you can get an idea of what I was trying to accomplish. I'll repost my original treatment as a comment. Please take a look at the LARGER IMAGE.
7D, 300mm f4 ISL, f7.1, 1/1600, manual exposure, iso 320. Processed in CS6. After cropping the spliced image was 5416x2463 pixels. Taken January 18th at the north crane pool.
I really appreciate your comments.
Thanks for looking,
