Lake Moraine No Grain

Here is a pano of Lake Moraine without the grainy style, that I used in an earlier post. Had to put in this category, as there are some folks wandering around on the right side. Hope you like this one much better.
Lake Moraine is just such an icon with its turquoise water, that I wanted to give it a different perspective by choosing B&W.

Lucy, the lake, forest and mountains are spectacular, and B & W is very suitable here. There is some curious horizontal banding in the sky, that needs correcting. I don't know where it came from, but as the sky is the weakest part of the photo, the less of it and the blander the better. :toast:

It's a wonderful landscape scene Lucy, really like the pano comp & the B&W suits it nicely.
I would select the sky and just average it out if it was mine. It's a gray sky anyway..
Well done :toast:

I don't have a clue where the banding came from.... All I used was Vivieza and Nik Silver Effex Pro 2....Anyway, here it is with a lightened, bandless sky.

This is a beautiful black & white. Think this is very suitable here. Some weird things going on in the sky, though. Maybe the right side is a bit to dark....but otherwise a beautiful image

The original sky was pure white overcast, but not blown. It drew too much attention away from the main view, so I just tinted the sky a little bit gray. The re-post sky is a bit lighter than the original post. Suggestions welcome.

I sure like how going b&w emphasizes the alluvial fans along the base of the mountains and the reflections in the lake. I would like to see the top of the second peak not cut off, but that's very minor. As for processing, you may be able to burn in (darken) the sky in the original so it doesn't attract as much attention. Finally, I'd like to see just a bit of texture in the ridge on the very right.
