That's right. A stick.

It was too far out to reach, and I'm never too willing to disturb what I find anyway. What are the opinions?

Hidden Pond. Rachel Carson Conservation Park, Maryland

Three RAW exposures for DOF, hand blended in PS6, processed in LR5, TK resize/sharpening for web.
Canon T2i, 3.2 s, f/8, ISO 200, EF 24-105 mm @ 28 mm, CPL

Seeking any and all advice and comments. Thanks in advance.

Pretty little fall scene Ronald, really like the reflection of the leafless trees, and the fallen leaves, tells a nice story of late fall, but I have to be honest, the branch does distract a bit from the scene, I probably would have taken the shot myself, and I don't like to garden scenes unless it's absolutely necessary. Anyway, I like it, very nice comp and color. Well done.

This is an interesting idea, but I do find the branch to be distracting. You might consider blurring everything except the branch for a photo art type abstract. I really like the reflection and the leaves in the pond, Ronald.

Great reflection here. I love these. Sort of illusions.

This is working for me. I am finding the branch interesting rather than distracting and I am really liking the color-filled water and reflection. . No nits here.

I understand your feelings about not disturbing a scene, but in this case it would have definitely been beneficial to do so I think. Without the stick this would be quite nice, but the stick really does disrupt the scene IMHO.

I like this. The stick works very well in this comp. It sort of seem to float above the frame in a sort of 3D way, like a handle to hold onto as my eyes wade into the rest of the scene. Quite effective.

I like this a lot, with the elegant transition from fallen, floating fall leaves to the tree reflections (nicely "Escheresque"). The stick makes an interesting focal point. My nits are the two little branches that nearly touch the bottom and possibly the one long fairly straight branch that comes very close to them. I hate to advocate cloning, but in this case I think cloning out those two little branches and possibly some off the end of that straight branch would make a stronger image.

Love the title.

I vote no stick, but looks like a nice mix of opinions above so it must be just a personal preference thing. (Mute point though, if it was too far to reach.)

Cool image, Ronald. I like the way the reflection on top transitions to leaves in water h thru the center of image and back to reflection at the bottom.
