Forest Kingfisher

There were several comments on the lack of separation between the head and bg on my last post of this species. Looking at the series of images I took, I found one that had more light on the bg behind the bird, so I processed it. I also decided to try using a vertical format to de-emphasize the perch a bit.

7D, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, braced on vehicle window, f5.6, 1/1600, Av mode with no compensation, iso 500. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 5.1MP. Taken October 20th at 9:20 am.

Your comments and criticisms are most welcome.

Thanks for looking,

I like the vertical treatment better. I agree that it it de-emphasizes the perch. Nice color and detail and a cool bird. :toast:

Dennis perch is what they choose to sit on,the bird is a little cracker and that Bg makes it look even better.
