Another one from Ridgefield on Thursday. I liked this odd pose, giving the impression of playfulness.

7D, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, beanbag on truck window, f8, 1/1250, Av mode with no compensation, iso 500. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 6.7MP. Taken November 21st at 2:54 pm. I removed some overly bright highlights from the belly of the duck.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

I like not only the pose, but also the color, the water drops, the comp. and the fact that it is a cinnamon teal (we don't see many of those in Yakima). I have got to get over one of these days. Will be going to Long Beach tomorrow, but unable to detour. Maybe on the return trip.

Nice capture of this behavior Dennis. I like the splashing water and the red eye. I hear about these guys occasionally down here in Texas but the only one I ever saw was on the Madison river in Yellowstone. Getting a nice shot of this bird, especially in flight is a major avian photo goal of mine.

Love the way brown algae in this water compliments the teal Dennis.
Great stop action and POV, neat pose! :toast:
