Found this old weather beaten cedar log down by the ocean and liked the patterns and textures. Everything seemed to spin into the center in a nice way.

Whoa, this is very nice. I enjoy just roaming around the image. Are those hard shadows I see? What was the light like? The tone distribution is well-controlled.

Very nice Abstract. it appears the reds are blown out in a couple small areas-upper middle and upper right but since no one else has mentioned it I assume it's the cheap uncalibrated work monitor I'm looking at. I love the textures, lines and tones especially the green and gold in the LRC and the knothole on the lower edge. Excellent find and capture. :toast:

nice one bill. i'd crop it square, taking the excess off the top to eliminate that shadow and the fuzzy area in the top left. that'd make for a super image!

This is way cool, Bill. I love the graceful lines and little splashes of color along with the lack of scale. Great image, I am really enjoying this.

Grief that is amazing talk about natural art. very well done finding it and doing a wonderful job portraying it. A stunning natural abstract, purely personal but I think I would desaturate the hues a little.

Fantastic abstract. The texture and light and lines are mesmerizing. The color saturation seems to be a little over the top, but I was not there so I am not certain about how intense the colors of the lichens were, but to my eye they seem a bit to punchy. Otherwise fantastic.

Amazing find, and your presentation and processing brings out some fascinating textures. I'd prefer the ULC a little brighter to blend in more with the tones of the rest of the image. ULC looks a tad soft compared to the rest on the large view.

Holy smokes. Thanks for all the wonderful comments I never would have guessed. I've learned a ton being here from all of you. Kane if you're ever here I'll show you the log. I actually took saturation out as these colors were bright in the original. Thanks a lot.
