Chris: I like the mushroom but the FG leaf is too dominant and intrusive IMO. If it was behind the mushroom I think it would be a fine BG element but as shot here it is an impediment to viewing the main subject. >=))>

I agree with Bill about the leaf, Chris. The mushroom is captured well and will make a fine image.

Fine capture of the mushroom, Chris - I think leaving the fg leaf there was an interesting experiment but maybe it doesn't quite work, as others have said. Possibly a viewpoint more to the R might have ?

Chris:

Yes, the mushroom looks great. Too bad that the leaf stem intersect and cut the mushroom stem into 2. Moving the camera a fraction to the right may have avoided the intersection.

thanks for the comments and advice, i was i think drawn to the gentle form of the mushroom and colours of the leaf when i took the shot, but can see it lost the mushroom a little

Hi Chris, the mushroom is nicely captured, and contrasts well with the bright blades of grass.

I shot mushrooms for several hours and admit that I moved dozens of leaves out of the way to make what I felt was a better scene.
