First Snow

I managed to catch an Ellis & Eastern train loading sand at a sand plant in Sioux Falls, SD. This was during our first snow storm of the season. I used a Nikon 80-400mm VR lens so I could back off some distance. This allowed me to put more snow between me and the subject, giving it a nice diffused & softened look. Winter is my favorite time of year for photos, and it's back again!

I can feel the cold. SD. I wonder if placing the sand plant more centrally behind the train with a long lens might be good too.

The Ice Man Cometh! I like the somewhat ghostly feel of this, Kent.

Kent: Way cool. I love the image and the scene and I think I might want to be there but then again I haven't seen that much snow in 30 years total here in Texas. Nicely done.>=))>
