The softly blurred bg is perfect to show off the rich color of these autumn leaves. Excellent choice of dof and focus.

I like the overall colors, Ian, with the way the red-orange-yellow pops against the contrasting soft blue bg, and the shallow focus on the main leaf. Excellent dof management.

Ian:

I do like the contrast of warm color with touch of cooler blue in the bg. The DOF looks fine but a little more to get the tip of the leaf in focus would be an alternative.

I like the sharp leaf at the top and the soft, supporting leaves in the background. Well seen.

Nice one, Ian. I like the faintly visible shapes and colors in the background with the sharp leaf up front. The squarish format works well too. Nicely done.

Hello Ian,
After one year I returned to this excellent flora gallery. As I can see the quality even improved. I like very much your excellent leaf close-up photo with very nice fall colors, perfect light, very good clarity. The bokeh is also very good. Framing in square format is a very good choice and the well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Well done, very creative. :toast:

Very beautiful - almost ethereal.
Also like the framing!
