It's a beautiful rose in taken in beautiful light against a beautiful red bg, Bill. The red on red is unusual and striking. I just wish the leaves on the left, which are fairly prominent in the image, were pristine, but I don't know what could have been done about that.

Perfect setting for a beautifully crafted rose portrait, Bill, with some crisp droplets. The smoothness of the bg turns the imperfections in the leaves and on the petals into pleasing visual accents. I do love the rose colour - have you desaturated a touch ?

Ian: No desaturation; this is its unique color. . Bill

the rose is beautiful. The leaves are a little distracting. I can't tell if it's a touch of black spot or if you just need a little epsom salt around the base. Bg is extremely complimentary.

The red on red works very well, especially with the sharp yellow and brown center. It would be interesting to see a version without the green leaves, but I'm not sure it would be better, the greens work well to set off the reds.
