I was visiting Green Cay Wetlands this past week and right after I arrived I spotted this Double Crested Cormorant with a fish it had speared (red-eared sunfish). The Cormorant swam with this fish out of the water until it reached a snag next to the shoreline where it pummeled the fish until it was able to swallow it. It was a really cool thing to watch and I'm glad I got some great photos from it

Nikon D7100 300mm f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/6.7
1/2500s
ISO 500

Full Frame, minor edits in LR5 and CS5

What I do like about this shot, is that the prey is the main subject. I also like the empty space on the right - however I am missing part of the 'virtual body' of the Cormorant. But that said, I wish it were mine  , cheers, Hans

Cool light and action, Luke. I look forward to shots of the sequel.
