With the Matterhorn (Monte Cervino) the most iconic mountain range of the Alps. Photographing well known views demands particularly good conditions, unless the result is just one image like thousand others. The challenge for me was to find a proper foreground, because there are plenty of colourless rocks. Luckily lots of rain during the night filled up this little puddle and I was able to capture the reflection of these uniquely shaped pinnacles surrounded by fresh pasture.

Hi Rainier,

You captured this majestic scene well, especially with the reflection of the jagged peaks in the pool. The green grass complements the color of the mountains and sky and tempers the hardness of the rock. The only change that I might consider would be to narrow the aspect ratio and crop out the tuft of grass in the bottom-right corner.

Cheers,

Randy

What a wonderful scene this is, Rainer. You really did capture this at a great time. The reflections are a great addition and I love the light across the whole scene. The grass along with the pools with the light and shadows makes such a nice foreground for this scene. I like this very much!

Very nice image, well processed. I agree on slightly cropping the right side. Gives a more balanced composition in my opinion. Anyway....well done.

Color combination with the blue and green give this a fresh, vibrant feel. Nicely done. I agree with the crop suggestion.
