Autumn Nyssa

We don't have many nyssa sylvaticas here, and then only in gardens. I'm amazed by their autumn colours - very difficult to do justice to. This is a backlit shot of some leaves.

Great colors, by gum! Black Gum is a native wetland species here, but it does well in drier sites where it has been planted. Seriously, a very nice comp with a good mix of colors. The in focus leaves handle the dominance well with the good leading lines. The mix of OOF leaves and sky make for a good background.

Very nice, Ian. Love the color combination and the backlighting to make it pop. Nice work! Well done!

A great combination of colors, Ian, including the contrasting blue bg. The backlighting is sweet. Excellent intimate autumn image.

Ian: Terrific DOF choice and a delightful color palette. The large version is especially enjoyable. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Beautiful color contrast between the warm leaves and the cold sky. This image represents well the warm fall that we have had till a few days ago. I love it Ian.
Take care.

Hi Ian :wavey: Agree with Bill on your fine DOF choice. The blue sky BG works well with the enchantuing colors of the leaves....

Hi Ian, this one is even better that the following one (which is already excellent). Brilliant composition, superb focus-blur control, perfect light and beautiful fall colors. Excellent photo. :toast: :toast:
