Autumn's Embers

Nothing better than a stunning sunset and something interesting to have in the FG. Shopping centers seem to be in the way all too often. This was from a fine evening a couple of weeks ago in NH's White Mountains (Moat Mountain). The whole forest seems to glow red from the color emitting from the sky. The alpine scrub and blueberry bushes were nearly as red as the sky and the subtle backlight really made them glow. The most perfect evening for me.

Fantastic reds in this scene, Harry. The sky is gorgeous along with the alpine scrub. That lowbush blueberry in it's autumn splender makes a fantastic FG element. Beautiful image!

I really, really like this Harry. And it's not just because red is my favorite color.

I really like the way that you used the red in the composition to create the repeated layers. Just extraordinary work with a beautiful scene and masterfully composed. :toast:

This is a stunner Harry! My favorite scenes are grand vistas with a strong anchor and great depth, with wonderful color and lighting thrown in. Check, check, check, and check.

Harry, I really like the correlation between the sky and FG shrub. Nice find for sure, it's often difficult to find decent compositions on top of the mountains in the northeast. :toast:

Thanks for all of the comments. Yes Zack, NE Mountains much more of a challenge, but at least you often don't have to worry about someone else getting in the middle of the shot
