A tree digs in to avoid the fate of a long-lost companion.

Three RAW exposures for DOF hand blended in PS6, processed in LR5, then TK resize/sharpening for web.

Nice perspective here! It looks, at first, crooked until you see the straight trees in the BG.
Great fall colours and detail.
Well-done!

I like the strength of the root, but the slope of the tree gives feeling of imbalance

The natural color and detail are very nice,,,,the backward lean of the fg tree make me anxious.

I like the way the fall colors make a lovely, but not distracting background, to help make your point. And you make it well, with the erosion around the birch roods very evident, explaining the visual tension of the leaning trunk. I am enjoying the perfectly natural look of your images from this place.

I like the leading lines with the roots as they take you up the precarious nature of the tree, Ronald. Also nice yellows with the autumn leaves in the BG.

Very nice fall scene with nice back round colors Ronald. The leaning tree adds some tension to the scene. Very natural processing also. Great job.

Love the pattern of the roots in the foreground and your great composition with the creek and autumn colors in the background. Makes one feel right there.

I like this a lot. I really appreciate when someone is successful at finding and composing an intimate scene like this. It's MUCH harder to have a successful and effective image like this versus when you're just handed a gorgeous sunset in the mountains, etc. Very nicely nice and captured.

The thumb definitely caught my eye. I like the blending and overall sharpness. And the composition definitely holds my interest. Even though this looks to be a low-contrast scene, I feels a bit too low in contrast to me. Sort of wondering what and S-curve might do here
