Near and Far
by Thomas Haney
One of the great things about photographing the Oregon coast is that solar halos are very common, and can add to the composition of your photographs even if they are somewhat faint. I came across this scene on the northern coast near Ecola State Park, and after putting on my hip waders, walked around in the water looking for the best composition. When I found this angle I noticed that the foreground and background rocks mirrored one another, as well as the pool and halo.
