Misty forest

A picture from last Sunday. This mist changed pretty quickly, and I ended up liking this one the most. Color version is not that great, but it looks a lot better in B&W.

f/16, 1/15s, ISO200, 200mm.

CC welcome (large version included)!

The b&w works great here. You captured some nice layers. I think you could go with a bit more contrast if you wanted more drama but the softer mood you have is nice as well.

This is a perfect shot for B&W - looks great. Excellent composition and, as for contrast, I like it as presented. Just my .02, but I think additional contrast would harden it too much.

Very nice layers and composition Roel. B&W suits this perfectly and I like the contrast as is. Great job on this. :toast:

Magical and moody! Looks fine as is, I don't have any suggestions for improvement.

I love the mood and atmosphere in this landscape, Roel. Also great use of layers and a perfect candidate for B&W.

Fine image. The B&W works very well with this image and the composition is very good.

role, this is very nice. i like the contrast as it is. i would consider cropping something from the top (to just at the top of the cloud/mist level on the right) and a fine slice off the bottom.

Man, I love scenes like this! (But I often miss the details because I am so busy trying to capture everything in sight all at once.) Excellent B&W conversion -- looks perfect to me. I was about to suggest a crop from the top, but then I looked at the larger version, and somehow, the extra size made it all come together, just as you composed it. I tend to like including more details when the image is presented in a larger format (big print or full screen), and this certainly deserves to be seen BIG.

Fine impressionistic feel and muted grays just right.
