One more (last) image of the Pied-billed Grebe on the pond in my backyard. This one is cropped to 44% of full frame, but I'm still glad to have these. As I said with the previous image, this is the first time a Grebe has gotten and stayed even this close.

Canon EOS 7D
EF400mm f/5.6L USM
10/23/2013 – 5:13:12 PM
1/2000 sec
Manual
f/5.6
ISO 400
Handheld
Levels, Curves, noise removal from BG, sharpened the bird, cropped.

All comments, critiques and suggestions are always greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Good position and lighting; nice water for the background. I'd rotate this a few degrees clockwise so that the ripples created by the moving grebe are level.

You have a cool backyard Barbara. Love these little guys. It seems so content sunning itself.

These guys are always fun IMO. Good light on this one. I'd try the rotation too.,

Nice one Barbara, I like the light you caught the grebe in. The larger image shows the detail very well. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet shot, Barbara! Good light and a low angle. It does need about a degree CW rotation.
