A Patriarch

I was up and out early this morning to the local nature area and came upon this nice buck. He was all by himself and ignoring other deer. Guess he was content. He never came out from the edge of the vegetation so I couldn't get a really clear shot of him. This was the best of a bunch where the antlers always seemed to have some involvement with the BG. The deer is also more centered than I like but I wanted to show his habitat so I decided not to crop. I added a bit of exposure which helped the antlers to stand out more and added some warmth. Cloned out a piece of distracting limb and did some slight sharpening. Comments and critiques are welcomed and help me improve.

Peter,
A Patriarch indeed, this is a fine looking and very healthy Buck that you captured so well. I like this centered composition and the environment is perfect.
Great shot . . . :toast:

Peter, a really very natural looking take on this fine buck. The centering of the deer does not bother me at all and is how we would be viewing it in the wild anyway.

This is one of your good ones. I like the framing effect of the vegetation and the clear view of the buck without antlers being swallowed by background branches, etc. Legs show he is about to move, which adds a dynamic tension, too.
