Fiery Japanese maple that caught my eye in Kubota Garden here in Seattle last Monday. Love this place. Beautiful and serene, and no charge to get in!

Joe, Beautiful orange leaves with a wonderful glow. The twisted trunks sure add an interesting look to this. Very cool looking! If I had something like that close by I would be visiting it too.

Nice image Joe. I like the orange leaves and the twisted trunks. You may consider to crop the upper side (to remove the green area) and the right side a bit. Might improve the balance in the composition.

Nice, at first i thought this was 'the tree' in Portland. Love how it fills the frame.

Wonderful color and twisting limbs, Joe. I love the leaves on this type of maple. I agree with a crop from the top to increase the overall cohesiveness. Either way, nicely seen and captured! Chet

I think the repost is the ticket, Joe. I love the warmth of the orange leaves along with the character of those twisted limbs of the maple. Beautiful image!

Now THAT's fall color!!
Besides the knock your socks off color here this is very nicely composed with the contrasting moss covered branches weaving their way throughout the frame.

Excellent image Joe. I prefer the repost which simplifies the scene a bit. Nice colors as well. You guys have a bargain up there in Seattle. The Portland Japanese Garden is definitely not free!

The mossy green limbs snaking though the red/orange leaves are quite nice. The top crop works well too

I haven't even been to the PJG yet Scott. It looks like an awesome place to visit and shoot, but on top of the admission fee, there's an extra $5.00 "tripod fee" if you're not a member, and a $155.00 membership fee to be able to use any images made for commercial purposes. The Seattle JG has an entry fee as well. Additionally, you need to pay a $75.00 "photographers fee" if you want to sell images, and you CANNOT bring a tripod in period.

Nice abstract Joe, the fee thing is crazy! The things we have to do these days just to get a picture ;)

Hi Joe I'm always sad to think why i never planted a japanese maple on my land what a wonderful tree. You captured it perfectly, showing the the delightful contours of the trunk. and it's brilliant colors.
