Returned to a favorite spot for fall color. Terrible fall colors this year due to an extended drought here this year. Not much color and leaves dropping quickly. Enjoyed a couple of hours relaxing here.

Those are some kick'n colors Bill. I like the frame created by the orange leaves. The brighter upper edge brings me up there a little- maybe a slight crop off the top and right to keep the original config. Fore some reason, when I look at the big version it seems that the close orange leaves are pasted on the rock background. Not sure why I get that impression, since I know that could not be the case, Maybe the brightness/color balance seems different to me? Or, it could just be my old eyes. A beauty any way you look at this. :toast:

Those orange leaves on the left are wonderful. The silky water does a great job of adding depth and movement and the colors in the distance work well. I find the grey sky slightly distracting and think that cropping it leaves very much the same sense of gentle fall warmth. Looks like a lovely stream to walk along.

Bill, Some very nice color you found here and I like the mix of orange, yellow and green. The slow shutter for the water worked very nice and I enjoy the feel very much. I'm ok with the sky as it is. Looks like a beautiful place to spend some time just as you did! Nice work. :toast:

What a pretty scene Bill, really like your perspective, and the colors are very nice. Especially like the big orange leaves, kind of the star of the show. Beautifully seen and presented.

You have a high standard if you call this terrible fall colors! Those orange leaves are fantastic. I thought I recognized this spot and indeed I saw that one of your first posts was also on this spot. I must say that i prefer this one over the first one. Well done!

This is a beautiful perspective Bill, and the orange leaves are stunning. I could see cropping the sky, or having used a somewhat faster shutter speed to add a bit more texture to the water, but I'm really enjoying this as presented.

Easy to see why this is a favorite spot. It looks like the drought didn't affect the colors by the stream; the shades of greens, yellows and oranges are lovely, even if some of them are on the ground. I'm not having any problem with the brighter area at the top, but if you don't like it, I bet a bit of vignette there would take care of that issue easily. My only nit is the water looking almost like mist instead of a bubbling stream, but that's just personal taste. The details in the FG leaves, and the way they lead you into the scene help make this a very inviting image.

Extremely well executed autumn scene, Bill. Although you've mentioned the drought being a bit of an issue, this capture does not indicate anything wrong at all. Timing can be everything, and in this case you've captured it a seemingly best of times. Exceptional image. :toast:

Thanks a lot everyone for the kind comments. This area is high in the middle of the island and gets rain when no where else does. Very reliable color here. Everywhere else was really dry all summer and fall and awful looking. Plus a lot of the island is heavy conifer forests. Thanks again.

Bill, This place looks very relaxing, beautiful full color pallet going, and a great comp. If i'm being super picky, I would crop off the top where you can see the sky. When I do that on my computer, it really becomes an image full of color with a single focus for the viewer.

It doesn't' get much better than this - nice motion and whites without overdoing it - beautiful colors which are "well-organized" throughout the image and a good flow across the canvas

Beautiful fall color for sure, Bill. I like the diagonal flow with the stream along with the transition of colors with the orange, yellow and green leaves. Beautifully done. My only suggestion; and this is just a personal preference; would be to clone out that limb in the LRC. I can see why this is a favorite spot of yours for fall color.

This flows beautifully. The colors are pleasing - I especially like the brown/orange leaves and rock vs the green water.

very engaging comp and the leaves are positively on fire
I only wish the branch in the LRC wasn't there, but that's minor
great autumn shot

Wonderful autumn scene Bill, really like the inclusion of the red leaves on the left. The water appears to have a slight green cast to it, at least on my monitor. Perhaps selectively cooling down the water a tad would help. :toast:
