Hi everyone! Here's another image from the Waterton Elk rut. It is very similar to my last post, but with different poses from the elk. I believe this image was taken right after my previous post. I'm curious to know which version you like better. Here's the link to the other image: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=211128&CGISESSID=5a84ab7d4574afcd28caf4a15091ab70&u=31631

Thanks for lookin'! :wavey:

Jenaya, both are great shots. I like the pose of the front elk better in this image - the open mouth mainly. He also turns his head to the second bull. The cow on the left is partly obscured by the back bull in this one, which is a bit unfortunate. She is in the clear in the other image. Tough call, but I think I prefer this one, but that is simply personal choice. Both have beautiful muted vegetation colors.

Jenaya, I like this one far and away better than the first. This is classic bugling action. I also think this guy has the attention of the other male. There is the sense here of an impending clash that is missing in the first. I would, however, be tempted to clone out the cow grazing on the right. :toast:

Another vote for this version Jenaya. Nice job catching the bulls with their heads up. I like the composition as is.

This one is classic and has a greater sense of action, given the bugling stance. Good capture.

Jenaya,

The main subject is much better in this one as you have the benefit of a far better head angle.
If your ethics allow I would definitely consider making the Elk on the right disappear :toast: :toast:

Nice pose, soft light and "animal repetition without overlapping" here, Jenaya!

Yeah, this is the one. This really has the sense of something about to happen between these 2 bulls. You caught them just right. Interesting that this bull has no harem. He physically looks like he should have one.
