Mammoth Hot Springs

D800 18-200mm @ 95mm F19 1/45 ISO 100

Taken last month at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone NP just as the sun's first rays were hitting this section of the springs. We all are aware of the advantages of being out during the " golden hours " but I couldn't get over the extreme difference in color intensity of these springs between early morning and the rest of the day, even the evening hours.

That is such a beautiful image! The patterns and the colors in itself are fantastic, but the lonely tree adds so much to the image. Well done!

That tree really adds to the scale of this photo. I would not have expected it to be such a large expanse without that tree. The light is great as well.

Bob, this is quite nice, beautiful colors, light and comp, and the tree is an extra added bonus. Fine work indeed.

Excellent. The dead tree really grounds it.
