scarred

A fire-scarred hillside in Jasper National Park. This image was made in March 2012. I was attracted to the abstract, pencil-like trees which looked like a sketch, although the hillside was a long ways away. C&C appreciated. Please view large.

The larger view is a must see. I would be tempted to convert this to B&W and increase the contrast.

Thanks Eva. When I first worked on this image last year, I had converted it to B&W. Here is the B&W version. More contrast for sure.

Very much an etching type of appearance. Highly artistic in capture and presentation. Print it large!

Hi Matthew, I really like this, and yes, it sure makes you think of a sketch. I think both versions are very nice but do quite enjoy the b&w. Nice work!

Very neat. I see you posted a B&W - I actually thought the original was a toned B&W; is it not? Either way, it's an excellent shot. Looks very much like an etching or a pencil sketch as you suggest.

Gary, Morriss, Nick and Bill...thank you for your feedback.

I see what you mean by toned B&W. The original post is actually a color image. A little bit of brown in the hillside, but that's about it.

Nice! This is much better than the thumbnail suggests. I prefer the color version.

Thanks John. I prefer the color version also. The thumbnails can be deceptive for many images. Thanks for looking at the larger versions.

Fascinating. One of those images that I like more and more the longer I look. B&W is great

The larger the better for this one! Getting lost in the detail is where the fun is. The color version is easily my preference.
