Autumn On Big Pine Creek

Thanks to all who commented on my recent Sierra Autumn Sunrise image.

This image from Big Pine Creek on the Sierra East Side was made in October of 2005. The alder along the creek were in full autumn color. I have reworked this image several times over the years for both color and contrast. The color has been warmed, blue and cyan in the water reduced and contrast tweaked a bit. I am curious as to your thoughts.

Please see large version.

Stunning color in the bushes: wonderful sense of flow ; and the boulder is very intriguing. This is great all the way through it. Very nicely done

I like the bright color of the bush, and the supporting cast of the rocks and stream. Well done.

Preston,

I love the sense of color explosion that the tree provides, and the anchor of the large FG boulder. The water adds the right amount of dynamism. Well done.

Probably one of my most favorites of yours over the years, Preston. The alder was always the give away to my recall to this image, but more often after recognizing it each time the large marbled rock is just as important to my viewing pleasure. Processing or your reprocessing all looks just fine to me.

Fab colorful detail in the tree. Love the water foreground. Nice shot Preston!

I might consider trying a localized cooling of the water highlights.

First of all, I like this very much, and the processing couldn't be any better, the first thing that caught my eye was the boulder, which has a lot of appeal on its own, also like the natural color and soft light. All and all, beautiful work Preston.

The way that bush seems to literally erupt with autumn color, like a geyser , together with the wonderful creek and rocks, make this one stunning image, Preston. Love everything about this.

Wonderful interplay of elements to me, Preston. The mighty rock anchores your image nicely, while the delicate foliage and the stream complement each other interestingly for me.
