Le Conte's Sparrow

It's been a very long time since I've posted...just haven't done much birding or photography this year. But thanks to Congress, I'm deemed "non-essential" and have had the last 10 days free. Went birding yesterday found a nice mix of sparrows migrating through, including my favorite, Le Conte's Sparrows.

Canon 50D, 400 5.6L.

Hi Terry: Great pose! One of those that just makes you smile
Too bad about the OOF branch running through the bird.

Excellent as posted, and I'd lov e to have this in my files. I'd also be happy to see this species this well some day.

Chuckle at the pose. Really neat image. The detail in the bird is impressive even in the smaller size. Large version has outstanding detail. You just nailed the focus. Like Richard, I'd be happy to have this in my files.

This must be a young Sparrow, the older ones cannot do this anymore !

Spot on and hilarious, to boot! :toast: I cannot imagine this poor sparrow is very comfortable in this position. I wouldn't be

I've seen and photographed these guys in this same pose, interesting that they seem to like to do this. Lovely light, I honestly didn't even notice any "distracting" sticks, just complementary surroundings.

A delightful image with excellent image quality, Terry. I'm not bothered by the twig in the background.

Great to see you posting..
Lovely portrait of this fllow - love the splayed legs and excellent feather detail.
I'd personally clone out that OOF branch behind the body, but that's purely a personal choice.
Congrats on the WP!
Sandy
