A Flower that gets posted very rarely on Flora.

Pls see LARGE VERSION

Thanks a lot for your comments on Overload of Dew and let me know what you think of this one.

Now THAT is an elaborate bloom Ram! Great color and nice BG management. Nice details on the bloom and stem also. Very interesting (and I think a first for me to see here).

Pity it doesn't get more exposure, it's a beautiful and interesting flower. I appreciate the low perspective and the excellent detail. Lovely

That is a wild looking flower....It seems rare which contributes to the lack of exposure on this site. I think you've made the best of a tough model.... the long leggy look and spots make it hard to compete against flowers which silky smooth curves...with pastels that you often post. Well done with this!

It's certainly completely new to me, Ram - and the most lovely flower. Great clarity of detail and delicacy of colour, in both subject and ground, mark this image as first rate for me.

Very unusual, Ram! Very nice capture. Just wondering if there was a possibility of a horizontal comp (avoiding the short branch at the bottom) and giving more room around the flower. Nice work!

Beautiful take on this striking lily, Ram. Excellent work on the lily detail and the very nice bg. I've gone back and forth on whether to crop the bottom to eliminate some of the stem, including the short stem. I'd probably be so inclined if this were mine. :wavey:

Why do I feel it's saying "Take me to your leader, Earthling!"? That is a bodaciously weird flower! I certainly like it in all its lovely detail! If this were mine, I would probably crop at the fork and clone out the truncated stem. :toast:

Ram: Oh what a terrific subject! Pretty darn good capture as well. I especially like your DOF control and the color palette of the BG. Just excellent. >=))>

PS: I actually like the short stub and think it adds to the overall comp. Plus if you crop it away you lose some of that gorgeous blue in the BG.

A compromise solution for everyone.

Bill - More Blues in the background.

Scott, Phil and Sanjay - Hope this works better than the original for you.

Ram: I like the repost but still prefer the original. The 4:6 ratio accentuates the stem length. Another small plus for me regarding the stub is the color change in it at the tip. >=))>

Ram, splendid photo of a beautiful flower that I have never seen before. It is like an orchid. Thanks for sharing.
Take care.

It's a great subject Ram but It's the bg that makes the image for me. Very fine work.
